This project showcases the book cover layout and design for A Piece of Cake, a deeply personal and creatively expressive work. Every illustration within the book is connected to me in some way, making this project not just a design exercise but a visual storytelling piece that reflects my identity and experiences. The title, A Piece of Cake, holds a special meaning—rooted in childhood memories of my brother affectionately calling me “Cake” when he couldn’t pronounce Katelin.
The design balances thoughtful composition, typography, and color to create a cover that captures the essence of the book while inviting readers into its story. This project highlights my skills in layout design, illustration, and visual cohesion, demonstrating how personal narratives can be woven into compelling and meaningful design work.
